A beginner’s course is organised twice a year, spring and autumn, when possible. The beginner’s course is organised at the tea room Tokuy\u016ban in Helsinki, and the basics of chad\u014d are taught during the course: the role of the guest, movement in the tea room, and bonryaku, a simple way of preparing tea.<\/p>\n

Information on the next beginner’s course will be updated on this web page once the schedule is confirmed. Due to the popularity of the course there is a waiting list, and you can register by emailing paasihteeri@urasenke.fi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We recommend comfortable smart casual clothing that you can sit on your knees in (over-the-knee skirt or loosely-fitted trousers). Long hair must be worn up (hair should not touch the shoulders), and watches and jewellery must be left outside the tea room. No lipstick, heavy make-up, or scent.
